VEO Ophthalmics™ and VitaPixel Partner to Bring VitaPixel SVS™ 3D Digital Visualization to Eye Care
/VEO Ophthalmics and VitaPixel Enter into an Exclusive Commercialization Relationship for VitaPixel’s Next-Generation Stereoscopic Slit-Lamp Technology
Cincinnati, OH — October 2, 2026 — VEO Ophthalmics™ today announced its partnership with VitaPixel, becoming the exclusive commercialization partner for VitaPixel SVS™, an innovative stereoscopic digital visualization system designed to transform the traditional slit-lamp experience.
Manufactured by VitaPixel, VitaPixel SVS™ combines advanced digital imaging with stereoscopic 3D visualization, enabling eye care professionals to see, capture, document, and share clinical findings in new ways. Through the partnership, VEO Ophthalmics will lead the commercialization of VitaPixel SVS™, bringing the technology to eye care professionals seeking new approaches to clinical visualization, documentation, education, and patient engagement.
“We are excited to partner with VitaPixel to bring VitaPixel SVS™ to the ophthalmic community,” said Ron Gilliland, President and CEO, VEO Ophthalmics. “This technology represents an exciting evolution of the slit-lamp experience. By combining the familiarity of existing slit-lamp optics with digital 3D visualization and instant capture, VitaPixel SVS™ gives clinicians new flexibility in how they examine, document, educate, and share.”
See in 3D. Diagnose with Confidence. Document with Clarity.
Designed to integrate with existing slit-lamp systems, VitaPixel SVS™ allows eye care professionals to move seamlessly between traditional ocular viewing and digital visualization with a simple flip of its camera system. High-sensitivity imaging sensors provide enhanced low-light visualization while capturing the view through the clinician’s existing optics and magnifications.
VitaPixel SVS™ delivers the stereoscopic view through OLED micro-display glasses, eliminating the need for the clinician to position their head at the slit-lamp oculars. This provides greater flexibility in clinician and patient positioning and supports a more comfortable examination experience. The system’s high-sensitivity cameras also require less bright illumination than traditional analog viewing through slit-lamp oculars, which is more comfortable to the patient.
The technology expands the role of the slit lamp beyond examination, providing capabilities for:
Patient education: Live and recorded images can help patients better understand their clinical findings and treatment.
Teaching and training: 3D visualization and instant image and video capture support case-based learning, skills assessment, mentoring, and collaborative discussion.
Digital documentation: Images and video can be captured, reviewed, annotated, and exported, with DICOM compliance, PACS integration, local session auto-save, and USB export.
The system’s touchscreen terminal provides immediate 2D viewing and capture, while the display glasses provide 3D visualization. Clinicians can control capture, zoom, and review from the touchscreen or a joystick button attached directly to the slit lamp.
“We’re excited to bring the slit lamp exam into the 21st century, improving the experience for patients and caregivers alike.” said Tom Meyer, Co-founder and COO, VitaPixel. “With an experienced ophthalmic commercialization partner like VEO, it allows us to maintain laser focus on manufacturing and future R&D.”
With VitaPixel SVS™, VEO Ophthalmics and VitaPixel are working together to advance the way clinicians visualize, document, teach, and communicate ocular findings.
